Burdensome are an independent four-piece from Hertfordshire, England, welding death and melodic metal to thrash and prog.

Since their first show in April 2022, Burdensome have played everything in reach: dingy clubs, established venues, record stores and open skateparks, clawing out a loyal following across Hertfordshire and London.

Their self-released debut EP, Hell is Dark, arrived on 23 April 2026 after four years in the making. Led by the singles Damaged Deliverance and Grief Leech, the record lands gruesome and exhilarating: the Chuck Schuldiner school of metal with glimpses of Carcass, early Opeth, Gojira and Blood Red Throne.

Burdensome are Declan O'Hara (vocals), Owen Palmer (vocals and guitar), Joey Lovette (drums) and Chris Kirkpatrick (bass).
